Interior alterations and landscaping

February 2022 to February 2023

Original project spec was to remove internal walls, create new internal door opening, brick and block up widow and door as per plans supplied by architect.  Brick fireplace, Garden renovation and fence.

Temporary screens were installed to keep dust downstairs as clients had move upstairs whitest the work was carried out.

Floor joists were propped up and walls carefully removed. Steel beams were fitted as per plans. Acro props removed and steel beams checked by the local building control.

We removed the garage ceiling and installed new insulation and plasterboard.  External wall in the garage was insulated and plaster boarded.

External door and window was removed and brick arch.  We then brick and blocked up the opening.  The brick match was not an issue as the clients will be painting the external brickwork.

We also removed the downstairs ceilings, insulated and fitted new plasterboard ceiling.  This took around 4 weeks to complete.

The project was left ready for the other trades to continue which was being organised by the client.

At a later stage we returned to build the fire place as design by client for wood burning stove. The original fire place and chimney was left in place. Brickwork was built around and fixed the original. Bricks we cut and bonded together with resin to create mantel built into the brickwork. Black dye was added to the mortar to create black mortar. The bricks were laid in a stack bond and recessed jointed to create to match design.

In late 2022 we returned to start the garden landscaping. The brief spec and photos were given by the client for us to work from. We reused some of the rubble / hardcore from the original work and reused topsoil where possible.
